Front Desk Attendant - Full Job Description & Responsibilities.

Reporting to the General Manager or Administrative Staff Leader.

As a Front Desk Attendant, you play a critical role in shaping the experience of our customers, both children and their families, by providing outstanding service, clear communication, and maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to handle a variety of tasks in a busy environment, and the professionalism to represent IK Gymnastics with care and consistency.

Primary Responsibilities :

Customer Service :

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure a positive experience for every child and parent.
  • Understand customer inquiries, provide clear and helpful responses, and ensure all interactions are handled professionally.
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and urgency when addressing customer questions or concerns, escalating issues to leadership when appropriate.

Communication :

  • Communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via email with appropriate tone and urgency.
  • Accurately take, record, and relay customer messages and notes both manually and in our computer systems.
  • Follow up on customer requests to ensure all issues are resolved to a high standard.

    • Administrative Duties :

  • Maintain the confidentiality of customer and company information at all times.
  • Learn and operate our class management system to manage tasks such as enrollment, check-in waitlisting, billing, and class approvals.
  • Manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing situations while maintaining focus on customer service.
  • Perform work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

    • Facility Support and Safety :

  • Proactively maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic environment throughout all public spaces during your shift.
  • Assist in reinforcing lobby etiquette, ensuring children and families follow safety rules (e.g., no climbing on furniture, no gymnastics practice in the lobby).
  • Provide basic care for children, such as directing them to classes, restrooms, or water fountains, and offering minor first aid supplies like Band-Aids or ice packs.
  • Support the overall safety and comfort of children and families in the facility.

    • Physical Demands :

  • Move throughout the entire 24,000 sq. ft. facility, including though gym areas with equipment. Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull small equipment or furniture (up to 40 pounds).
  • Remain in a stationary position during busy periods as needed.

    • As a Front Desk Attendant, you are a vital part of the IK Gymnastics team, contributing to the overall success of the organization through your daily efforts. You are expected to uphold the high standards of IK Gymnastics by providing professional, consistent, and friendly service to every customer. Being part of a team means taking ownership of your role, being dependable, and following through on all assigned responsibilities to support both your coworkers and our customers. Your ability to maintain a positive and solutions-oriented attitude, even in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment, helps create a supportive and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.
