We're looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you'll drive the development of services that help customers unlock the full potential of our infrastructure and enhance their products through advanced AI capabilities. Our team is small, driven, and committed to engineering excellence. We operate with a founder mindsettaking ownership and thinking long-term. Principal Engineers at Voltage Park are technical leaders who stay close to the work : writing code, debugging issues, and driving architecture. You'll lead through execution, not just direction.

This role is in-office and you must be based in or willing to relocate to the Greater Seattle Area or the San Francisco Bay Area to apply.

Define and lead architecture for critical systems that support advanced AI workloads at scaleSet engineering direction and influence technical strategy for the engineering teamMentor other engineers and review designs, contributing to a high-bar engineering cultureIdentify and tackle large-scale infrastructure problems that span multiple services or teamsLead cross-functional initiatives across hardware, infrastructure, and platform teams to deliver cohesive solutionsContribute to a high-performance engineering culture rooted in ownership and simplicityWho You Are
8+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production-grade software systemsStrong coding skills in one or more programming languages (e.g., Rust, Go, Python)You drive clarity in ambiguous problem spaces and influence decision-making at the org levelYou've successfully led architecture for complex systems or products at scaleYou collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners to align technical execution with product goalsYou hold a high bar for code quality, performance, and operational excellence, and help others meet itIdeal Experiences
Experience running or integrating with GPU infrastructure, AI / ML workloads, or distributed compute systemsSuccessfully scaled infrastructure to support rapid product growthDeep experience in performance optimization, resource scheduling, or multi-tenant infrastructureExperience with cloud infrastructure, containerized environments, or orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)Experience with AWS or other major cloud providersPrior experience in fast-moving environments or a high-stakes infrastructure teamVoltage Park Team Culture
