Job Summary and Qualifications

As a PACU Nurse at our ambulatory surgery center, you will care for patients postoperatively until they are safe for discharge. Your expertise in nursing will contribute to our mission of providing excellent care.

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare patient care areas and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Demonstrate proper airway management techniques.
  • Monitor patients closely according to established protocols.
  • Handle IV catheter insertions and management proficiently.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients using appropriate scoring methods.
  • Inspect dressings and surgical sites; communicate any concerns to the surgeon.
  • Create a comforting and safe environment for patients and their families.
  • Ensure patients meet all criteria for safe discharge.
  • Qualifications :

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
  • Minimum of 1 year nursing experience, preferably in PACU, ICU, or Surgery.
  • Active RN license as required by the state.
  • BCLS Certification required; online certifications are not accepted.
  • ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.
  • PALS certification if required by the facility within 30 days of hire.
