Starting Compensation : 18.00 USD Per Hour

Working Location : Victorville, CA USA

Working Hours / Shift : On Call - Multiple / Split Shifts

What You Bring To SBHG :

One (1) year full-time experience performing non professional consumer directed services in a mental health, health care, or social services agency.

Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with seriously and persistently mentally ill clients, other staff, and the public.

High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.) required.

Must possess a valid CA driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets the company driver eligibility policy.

Valid California Class "B" Driver's License preferred.

Certification as Nurse's Assistant (optional)

How You Will Make A Difference :

The Recovery Counselor is a para-professional treatment team member who is responsible for providing direct care to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the clients through direct and indirect physical and verbal interaction. Duties are performed under direct supervision of the Program Coordinator, but some tasks are accomplished independently. Job duties include promoting and assisting clients with self-help skills in the areas of eating, hygiene and grooming, and other activity or nursing activities. Encouraging client interactions and socialization with other peers, providing feedback to clients on appropriate behavior while acting as a role model. Transporting clients in facility vehicles as directed. Conducting and assisting both large and small activity groups and outings independently but under the supervision of the Program Manager or his / her designee.

Division / Program Overview :

The Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT) is a short-term voluntary residential facility tailored to adults aged 18-59 experiencing psychiatric crises. Its purpose is to provide a safe environment for stabilization, recovery, and community transition. Services offered include round-the-clock programs, therapeutic and mental health services, rehabilitation and recovery support (including substance use rehabilitation), pre-vocational or vocational counseling, medication evaluation and support, daily exercise, health / wellness education, and crisis intervention.
