Dell Childrens Medical Center and The University of Texas Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin are seeking a talented and innovative Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our growing Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease .
Founded in 2018, the Center has rapidly expanded, earning a reputation for outstanding clinical outcomes and a strong, collaborative care model. Our program performed 275 pediatric cardiac cases in 2019including 45 neonatal operationsand has continued to grow in scope and innovation. Highlights include :
- Opening of a dedicated pediatric cardiac critical care unit
- Central Texass first pediatric ventricular assist device
- A state-of-the-art cardiac operating room (opened February 2020), with a second OR soon to follow

What Youll Do :
Provide and supervise direct care for patients before, during, and after cardiac surgeryDevelop and implement clinical protocolsOversee quality improvement registries related to pediatric cardiac anesthesiaLead educational, quality assurance, and performance improvement effortsParticipate in coordinated outreach for the Heart CenterQualifications :
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institutionBoard certification in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology by the ABAAdditional formal training in Pediatric Cardiac AnesthesiaEligible for an unrestricted Texas medical license (or able to obtain prior to appointment)Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching, evaluation, and communicationStrong ability to lead, influence, and collaborate at multiple professional levelsInnovative self-starter with a commitment to excellence and teamworkEligible for appointment as an Assistant Professor or higher in the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic SurgeryWhy Dell Medical School?
