Overview
This position plans, directs, and coordinates work of the local survey department.
Responsibilities
- Maintains client relations, acquires new clients and projects
- Provides guidance / direction to Survey PM’s, Project Surveyors and Survey Technicians
- Ensures compliance with TBPELS rules and regulations
- Prepares proposals
- Manages project budgets and client invoicing
- Responsible for quality control of drawings and legal descriptions prepared by others
- Signs and seals completed drawings, legal descriptions, and surveyor’s reports
- Adheres to corporate QA / QC guidelines and principles
- Manages, trains, and mentors other members of the Survey Department
Qualifications
Registered in the state of Texas as a Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS)15 years of land surveying experience5 years of previous supervisory experienceAbility to prioritize and make decisions independently in a fast-paced production environmentAbility to develop and maintain professional relationshipsAbility to handle complex issues / problemsAbility to manage performance of Survey team members and handle personnel issues as appropriate or needed.Ability to work in and lead a teamAbility to effectively communicate with all levels of employees in the organization, both verbally and written.Must be dependable and reliable
