MISSION / SUMMARY : Roles and Responsibilities include : The position is responsible for providing daily leadership for departmental employees to improve safety and environmental compliance, quality, cost control, and production

JOB FUNCTION :

• Create, implement, and monitor local KPIs for department.
• Use six sigma and lean processes to implement process improvement projects to optimize equipment and reduce downtime.
• Liaison with other department managers to optimize mill production and alignment of maintenance management system with all improvement initiatives.
• Sponsor employee ownership with supervisors and operators to assure continuity in reaching common production goals.
• Foster employee engagement initiatives.
• Encourage a behavior-based safety process.
• Review environmental compliance measures.
• Preserve asset management systems for equipment performance and reliability improvement.
• Ensure the training program for operators and supervisor is current and appropriate training goals are on target.
• Promote ISO standards throughout department.
• Administer and implement Labor relations (CBA) through consultation with the Human Resource and Mill Managers.
• Provide leadership with the implementation of problem-solving strategies and execution of key performance objectives in the production for the Kraft and Caustic.

Qualifications :

MUST HAVE EXTENSIVE PULP MILL EXPERIENCE.
