About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with a strong background in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring that system solutions meet business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with business stakeholders, product owners, and SMEs to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
  • Translate complex business processes into detailed system requirements, use cases, workflows, and data models .
  • Partner with development and QA teams to design and validate system solutions within core banking, lending, payments, risk, compliance, insurance, or investment platforms .
  • Perform gap analysis and recommend enhancements or process improvements for existing systems.
  • Support regulatory and compliance initiatives by ensuring solutions align with industry standards (e.g., AML, KYC, SOX, PCI DSS).
  • Collaborate on UAT (User Acceptance Testing) planning and execution, ensuring business requirements are met.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirements review sessions, and stakeholder communications.
  • Provide L3 production support analysis when required, including root cause identification and solution design.
  • Prepare business cases, impact assessments, and cost / benefit analysis to support decision-making.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, Insurance) companies.
  • Strong knowledge of BFSI processes such as :
  • Core Banking Systems (Deposits, Lending, Payments, Treasury).

  • Risk & Compliance (AML / KYC, Regulatory Reporting).
  • Insurance policy administration, claims, underwriting, or billing systems (if insurance-focused).
  • Expertise in requirements gathering, functional specifications, data analysis, and system design documentation .
  • Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, SQL, Excel, and Agile methodologies .
  • Familiarity with SDLC, Agile / Scrum, and Waterfall delivery models .
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with integration projects, API-based solutions, and third-party vendor systems is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field ; MBA or relevant certifications (CBAP, CCBA, PMP) preferred.
  • Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Cloud-based BFSI platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) .
  • Knowledge of RPA, AI / ML, or Data Analytics in financial services.
  • Experience working with core banking platforms (Temenos, Finacle, FIS, Fiserv, Guidewire, Duck Creek, etc.) .
  • Familiarity with reporting & BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) .
