We are hiring Servers at Davenport's Pizza Palace! Davenport's is a family-owned pizza restaurant that has been a Birmingham staple since 1964.

Job Duties :

  • Engage with guests in a friendly manner, greet each table in a timely fashion upon entering the restaurant and upon seating
  • Assist guests with ordering and understanding the menu, describe our specials, provide suggestions
  • Balance tables effectively to ensure a table does not go too long between contacts
  • Coordinate with salad host to get salads out to tables promptly, input orders quickly and communicate with pizza makers to avoid longer lead times
  • Periodically check on guests to ensure their needs are met and their experience is up to our standards
  • Answer phones quickly and in a friendly manner, coordinate with pizza makers to quote prompt and accurate lead times
  • Manage the cash register by taking payment quickly and effectively, making accurate change, and engaging with the customer about their experience
  • Assist with running food to tables, making salads, keeping the restaurant clean, and taking care of guests' needs
  • Perform open / close duties as assigned including food prep and cleaning of the restaurant

    • Qualifications :

  • Experience is not required, but must be hard-working and eager to learn
  • Be proactive in performing job duties
  • Good communication skills and be able to work as a team as well as independently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Be able to maintain a standing position for an extended period of time
  • Jefferson County Food Handler's card is preferred, ability to obtain one is required
