The Role

Were looking for anAI / ML Applied Scientist I whos eager to apply cutting-edge machine learning to real-world healthcare problems. Youll work alongside a collaborative team of scientists and engineers to design algorithms, build LLM workflows, and deliver solutions that directly impact patients, providers, and hospitals.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving meaningful problems, enjoys working across disciplines, and is excited by the flexibility of a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and prototype machine learning algorithms and LLM workflows for document understanding and generation
  • Curate, process, and analyze business-critical healthcare data to support robust model development
  • Partner with product managers to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Collaborate with engineers to integrate models into scalable production systems
  • Continuously explore and apply new ML / AI techniques in a rapidly evolving field

Required Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in machine learning, data science, or computational software development
  • Proficiency in Python and standard ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn)
  • Ability to independently define problems, build prototypes, and evaluate results
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field (computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience developing machine learning solutions in Python
  • Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and software engineering best practices
  • Work Environment

    This is aremote-first role, with opportunities for in-person collaboration at our Raleigh-Durham headquarters.
