Position Summary
Responsible for end-to-end manufacturing of nutraceutical ingredients, this role oversees both internal operations and co-manufacturing partners. You'll manage facility operations, technical services, scale-up, and process optimization, ensuring compliant, on-time, and cost-effective production across all manufacturing sites.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Operations
Oversee daily operations at the manufacturing facility and warehouse for safe, compliant, and efficient production.
Supervise production staff—including hiring, training, and performance management.
Create and execute manufacturing plans aligned with demand and quality standards.
Ensure adherence to regulatory, quality, safety, and employment requirements (FSMA, cGMP, etc.).
Manage facility upgrades, equipment installations, and maintenance.
Collaborate with supply chain for timely raw material sourcing.
Track and enhance productivity, cost efficiency, and waste reduction.
Technical Services & Process Development
Lead process development, scale-up, validation, and tech transfers with internal and external manufacturers.
Oversee process qualification from pilot through commercial, maintaining validated operations.
Serve as the technical point of contact for CMOs, addressing production issues and ensuring supply continuity.
Partner with R&D, QC, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain on new product introductions.
Continuous Improvement & Strategic Projects
Champion initiatives that improve cycle time, margin, capacity, and process stability.
Lead deviation investigations, CAPAs, and change control processes.
Manage capital projects including facility enhancements and equipment upgrades.
Shape long- and short-term manufacturing strategy in collaboration with senior leadership.
Build a culture of innovation, accountability, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
10+ years in dietary supplements, food, or pharma manufacturing, including 5+ years in technical leadership.
Hands-on experience managing internal and external manufacturing operations.
Expertise in industrial-scale batch or continuous processing; distillation experience is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership in manufacturing execution and process development.
Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Deep knowledge of cGMP, HACCP, FDA / US / EU regulations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
Willingness to travel up to 15%.
