The Position
We are looking for an experienced Director, Program Management (PM) to join our versatile team and center of excellence for portfolio and program management. This successful candidate will have advanced project management skills, excellent strategic thinking skills, and a deep and broad working knowledge of the end-to-end drug development process. They will also bring business acumen and experience in leading business transformation projects including skills in process mapping, process improvement and change management. Strong leadership skills are also required across multi-functional matrix team leadership, communication, collaboration, negotiation, and problem solving. These versatile talents will position them to apply their expertise to building our future, transforming our ways of working, leading our talent and developing best practices.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the Head of Portfolio and Program Management to advance our capabilities and build best practices into our culture and ways of working.
In collaboration with the Program Leader and cross functional team members, contribute to the development of the overall program strategy and objectives for drugs or devices to achieve the target product profile and value proposition.
Lead the establishment of an integrated and operational plan designed to meet the strategy and objectives.
Efficiently collaborate and drive a program or project team with a sense of urgency through the management of uncertainties, risks, challenges and ensure the team has a clear path to deliver.
Be a central point-of-contact and liaison across R&D for business development transactions and work alongside R&D subject matter experts to assess business opportunities, gain endorsement approval and through business integration and program implementation

Expertise in project, program and portfolio management, strategic planning and integration with a strong working knowledge of research and development operations across the functions, an in-depth knowledge of the drug development process, and familiar with agile methodologies.
Provide program management and integrated planning across functions incorporating TPP, key value drivers, leading indicators, financial assumptions.
Lead teams through the establishment of cross functionally integrated plans that are connected to the strategy and are high-quality, executable and informed by benchmarks or internal metrics. Facilitate short- and long-term scenario planning, option and decision analysis. Lead meetings, operational logistics and workshops. Leverage agile sprint methodologies, if applicable.
Function as a resource and mentor to colleagues and potentially manage other program managers.
Take personal accountability to drive success.
Understand all aspects of the program from strategy to execution.
Results oriented and able to manage tasks of high complexity with autonomy.
Translate the strategy and program goals into the planning details with ease and make execution expectations clear and meaningful to the team.
Identify critical path and apply acceleration levers.
Partner with the team to drive execution according to the set timelines, milestones, decision gates, scope, and budget.
Effectively hold the team and functions accountable for the establishment and execution of plan.
Facilitate process improvement workshops and drive for optimal solutions.
Lead by example, demonstrating integrity, resilience, and a commitment to organizational values.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback and implementing best practices.
Strong collaborator and communicator (written, spoken, presentation) with the ability to influence.
Team player who can connect and coach, effectively identify stakeholders and interface across all levels of engagement.
Seek internal and external information and data points to inform and implement best practices and options.
Proactively take risk, issues, or insights to action with the team. Identify, mitigate, escalate, and facilitate the management of strategies to maintain on-time execution and discharging of risk.
Manage team through organizational governance and optimal decision making.
Leverage network to ensure functional expertise, broad stakeholder engagement and communication is effective to facilitate inputs and advice for effective decision making.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, life science, technical discipline, or relevant field. Advanced degree preferred.
Ten years of industry experience in R&D functions (e.g., Clinical Research, Early Development, Medical Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, etc.), experience in women's health preferred.
At least five years of experience in project management leading multi-functional development teams.
At least five years of experience working effectively in a matrix team environment as a leader, chair, or functional contributor.
At least three years of experience in leading strategic business initiatives and process improvement.
Proficient with MS Project, MS Timeline, SmartSheet, SharePoint, and all Office products. Experience with OnePlan and PowerBI preferred.
