At Austin Veterinary Emergency & Specialty (AVES ), we're growing rapidly—adding new doctors, expanding services, and launching departments—as we prepare to move into our brand-new, state-of-the-art 45,000 sq. ft. hospital.

As part of our growth, we're hiring for multiple technician and assistant roles across departments.

We're seeking highly skilled, self-motivated, and team-oriented professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional care in advanced veterinary medicine Overview :

  • ER & CC Veterinary Technicians play a vital role in the daily operations of Austin Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center (AVES).
  • They are essential in supporting our practitioners, ensuring the highest quality of patient care, and maximizing the efficiency of the medical team.
  • By handling technical tasks and managing administrative responsibilities, technicians enable our practitioners to focus fully on medical priorities and deliver exceptional care.

Compensation :

  • Credentialed Technician (LVT) : $24-$34 hourly, based on experience Unlicensed Technician :  $21-$29 hourly, based on experience Flexible Schedules Available : Full Time Schedule : TBD Duties and Responsibilities Patient Care and Assistance : Restrain pets, prepare / administer medications, and assist in exams, procedures, and surgeries.
  • Monitor anesthesia, provide supportive therapy, and teach clients how to administer treatments.
  • Prepare patients for discharge and communicate status updates to the care team and clients.
  • Record patient histories, treatments, and procedures accurately for invoicing and records.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and maintain detailed progress notes.
  • Schedule procedures, relay accurate information to clients, and seek help when needed.
  • Additional Duties :

  • Perform lab procedures and collect / prep samples for analysis.
  • Operate and maintain radiography units and diagnostic software.
  • Maintain and report issues with medical equipment; restock and manage supplies.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments, maintain hospital cleanliness, and assist with patient hygiene.
  • Requirements :

  • Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistants with at least 3 years of Emergency experience, dedicated to providing outstanding client service and excellent patient care.

  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus Benefits Include :

  • We are a robust 24 / 7 / 365 veterinary facility that offers Emergency, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, Interventional Radiology and Cardiology services.
  • In approximately 6 months, we will be relocating our hospital to a new location (within 2.6 miles from our current location) which will allow us to expand our services and provide growth opportunities for our staff.
