We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. IT Network Engineer to serve as a senior technical resource in a fast-paced, high-profile environment. This role will provide expert-level support and leadership in network infrastructure, while also supporting systems, cybersecurity, and end-user environments. You will drive the resolution of complex business-critical network and infrastructure issues while acting as a technical lead and trusted advisor to clients.

The ideal candidate will possess in-depth expertise in network architecture, configuration, and advanced troubleshooting, with a solid foundation in Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and security best practices. You must be able to manage network incidents in live production environments, as well as lead networking projects and infrastructure improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for all high-complexity network and infrastructure issues across LAN / WAN, VPN, wireless, and security systems.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise network solutions, including routing, switching, VLANs, and segmentation.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewall rules, BGP / OSPF, and related protocols.
  • Install, configure, and maintain core network appliances such as firewalls, switches, and wireless controllers (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco).
  • Drive performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning for network infrastructure.
  • Support and secure remote access solutions, including VPN, SSL VPN, and SSO integrations.
  • Collaborate with MSP engineering teams and third-party vendors to resolve network and service-related escalations.
  • Provide secondary support for Windows Server environments, identity platforms (AD / Azure AD), and Microsoft 365.
  • Oversee network security operations, including firewall policy management, segmentation, EDR tools, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Lead technical implementations for client-specific networking projects, including upgrades, expansions, and migrations.
  • Own and manage documentation, network diagrams, asset tracking, ticket resolution, and knowledge base updates.
  • Deliver white-glove support to VIP and executive users, especially in high-availability environments.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend / implement proactive solutions to optimize network uptime and performance.
  • Leverage tools such as FortiGate, Palo Alto, Azure, AWS, and Microsoft technologies.
  • Stay current with evolving threats and technologies, applying best practices in cybersecurity and enterprise networking.
  • Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of IT support experience, with 5+ years in a senior networking-focused or Level 3 technical role.
  • Expert-level knowledge in routing / switching, VPN, and firewall configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience deploying and managing enterprise network environments, including both cloud and on-premises components.
  • Strong experience with Windows Server platforms (2016, 2019, 2022) and Active Directory.
  • Deep understanding of network protocols (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP), NAT, port forwarding, and subnetting.
  • Hands-on experience with security technologies including firewalls, IDS / IPS, EDR, MFA, and compliance best practices.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Exchange Online, and mobile device management.
  • Strong PowerShell scripting or automation experience.
  • Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, ConnectWise, HaloPSA) and network monitoring platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex networking concepts to executives.
  • Ability to work independently and lead projects from design to implementation.
  • Preferred certifications : Cisco CCNA / CCNP, Fortinet NSE, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.
  • Preferred : Microsoft Certified : Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or similar.
  • Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting executive stakeholders in industries such as legal, finance, or media.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and service delivery methodologies.
  • Experience with network management and configuration via tools such as Aruba, Meraki, Cisco DNA, or SD-WAN.
  • Knowledge of MDM platforms (Intune, Jamf) and endpoint policy management.
  • Exposure to AV / VC systems like Zoom Rooms or Microsoft Teams Rooms.
  • Track record of mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development.
  • Project leadership experience or exposure to formal methodologies (Agile, PMP, etc.).
