We're looking for a talented and creative 3D Artist-Game Art to join our team in San Diego, CA and help drive our company’s vision forward.

  • THIS IS AN ON-SITE / IN PERSON / FULL TIME / BENEFITED POSITION IN SAN DIEGO, CA 92127.
  • Competitive Salary : $20.00-$27.00 per hour depending on experience
  • Full time position with benefits.

SUMMARY :

As a 3D Artist-Game Art, you will be responsible for creating optimized game-ready 3D art for multi-platform instructional media applications using Unity. This position will author textures and materials for use in a game art pipeline. Create technically accurate animations depicting maintenance, operation, or inspection procedures. Assist with development of storyboards and development of 2D graphics as required. This position will also have an emphasis in performance optimization techniques for lower spec hardware.

  • Create optimized 3D game art models for the Unity game engine, i.e. structures, characters, props, tools, vehicles, environment, etc.
  • Create 2D assets as needed, i.e. UI elements, textures, logos, dialog, signs, etc.
  • Modify existing art assets to meet performance standards based on platform.
  • Collaborate with designers and other artists to ensure requirements are being met and delivered on time.
  • Author game ready textures and materials including baking high resolution models down to game ready assets with normal maps using PBR for desktop and traditional texture pipelines for mobile.
  • Set up or modify character rigs for animations.
  • Create and edit animations for humanoid and generic rigs.
  • Create prototype art assets as required by designers.
  • Conduct research on performance optimizations relating to asset creation.
  • Use Unity engine to test 3D asset and animation exports.
  • Set up environments within Unity for level design needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR :

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Gaming, Graphics, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience creating high detail industrial / mechanical models using Autodesk Maya and Photoshop (or equivalent 3D and 2D programs).

  • Experience in animation of maintenance or operational procedures.
  • Experience with Substance Painter or equivalent (3D Coat, etc)
  • Experience with creating shaders in Unity Shader Graph.
  • Experience creating particle effects in Unity.
  • Experience working in an agile environment with Azure DevOps.
  • Experience working with git version control
  • Expert-level experience working in Autodesk Maya or equivalent program.
  • Intermediate-level experience working in Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • Intermediate-level experience working in Unity or equivalent program.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience creating measurement-accurate hard surface models from photographs or technical drawings.
  • Superior eye for detail and an understanding of complex modeling techniques.

  • WORK SCHEDULE AND LOCATION :

  • Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM with 1-hour unpaid lunch break
