Position Summary
The Territory Sales Representative is responsible for achieving significant sales growth, profitability, and account penetration within a regional market through the promotion and sales of the company’s products and services. This role uses a relationship-based approach to engage prospective and existing customers and ensure repeat business while supporting the overall sales strategy and objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Promote, sell, and secure orders from existing and prospective customers through a consultative sales approach.
- Demonstrate company products and services to customers and assist them in selecting those best suited to their needs.
- Contact established accounts and solicit new business opportunities.
- Coordinate sales strategies with internal departments including sales management, national accounts, purchasing, accounting, and marketing.
- Analyze territory potential and act on opportunities to increase sales.
- Negotiate pricing, shipping, delivery, and other service terms with customers.
- Serve as a consultant regarding industry trends, regulations, and new product developments.
- Organize and execute a personal sales strategy to maximize return on time investment.
- Develop effective written proposals and quotations.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of sales activity.
- Attend product training and meetings to enhance knowledge and performance.
- Participate in sales spiffs and programs from management, vendors, and marketing.
- Meet or exceed assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas.
- Consistently meet required daily, weekly, and monthly call activity goals.
- Respond to customer communications within 24 hours.
- Resolve customer issues within 48 hours of the initial contact.
- Utilize sales tools and systems such as HubSpot CRM on a daily basis.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Bachelor’s degree preferred.Prior experience in food processing or industrial sales is a plus.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.Self-motivated and goal-oriented with the ability to work independently.Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability and willingness to travel as required.
