Job Title : Database / Datalake Team Manager

Location : Greenwood Village, CO (Onsite)

Duration : Contract To Hire

Database / Datalake Team Manager :

This position plays a critical role in managing a team that designs solutions for a highly secure proprietary payments platform / system within the Government Solutions business unit. Responsibilities include working on complex systems and project issues while interacting with senior IT management and a demanding client.

Additional Duties :

  • Manage and lead a team of 7-10 DBAs
  • Work with development teams to provide estimates on tasks with complete timeline of project delivery.
  • Engage with senior management to develop technology strategy and drive implementation of the architecture roadmap.
  • Participate in broader areas of infrastructure, security, deployment, unit and integration testing.
  • Understand desired business outcomes desired by customer and translate to requirements for the solution and recommend potential options.
  • Own the overall solution and ensure all components of a solution fit well, function and perform as expected, including availability, performance, and security.
  • Effectively articulate the solution to both internal stakeholders and customers.

Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of experience leading a technical team
  • Prefer experience with leading the migration from legacy (mainframe) platform to Azure cloud platform.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of Azure experience.
  • Strong security awareness and knowledge of backup and recovery requirements.
  • Must be a US Citizen or current Green Card holder.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with a focus on the ability to articulate complex solutions to internal stakeholders and the customer.
  • Possess broad based and in-depth knowledge of complex technologies, tools, methodologies, the enterprise and industry.
  • Strong understanding of how technology relates to business, market and industry and applies knowledge to support the needs of critical systems and projects.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced analytical organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • 5+ years’ experience with the Scaled Agile framework.
  • Familiar with Azure DevOps, PowerBI, KeyVault, and IBM CDC Replication.
  • Databases and platforms to be managed are Azure SQL and Databricks. Familiarity and experience with both.
