Job Details

  • RN / CVIC position at Lutheran Hospital
  • Scope of role : All CVIC nurses rotate between ICU and step down
  • Experience with invasive line monitoring, central lines, ventilators, chest tubes, vasoactive drips, bedside procedures
  • Required skills : chest tubes, central lines
  • Candidates must have a proficient level of performance in the care of critically ill cardiothoracic and vascular patients
  • Patient ratio : 1 : 1, 2 : 1, or 3 : 1 in ICU depending on staffing and acuity; 4 to 5 : 1 in step-down
  • Number of beds in unit : 42 total (22 ICU and 20 Step Down)
  • Floating required to other ICUs
  • Department scrub color : Navy blue
  • EMR system : Cerner

    • Job Requirements

  • Must have BLS certification
  • Must have ACLS certification
  • Required to attach required license and certifications or will be rejected
  • Candidates must have experience caring for critically ill cardiothoracic and vascular patients

    • Schedule Information

  • Shift : Nights, 5p-5a, every other weekend
  • No approved time off the weeks of 11 / 23 / 25, 12 / 21 / 25, and 12 / 28 / 25
  • RTO max : if a full week is requested off, it will be added to the end of the contract to equal 13 weeks worked

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Unit : CVIC (Cardiovascular Intensive Care)
  • Nurses rotate between ICU and step down units
  • Floating to other ICUs required

    • Additional Details

  • Travelers must be greater than 50 miles from facility; local candidates not accepted
