Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We’re hiring a Part-Time Editor for a remote opportunity with a leading digital media company known for producing engaging, high-quality content across sports, pop culture, and national affairs. This is a 12-month contract opportunity with potential for extension.

In this role, you’ll join the Editorial team to support the copy desk in maintaining high standards of accuracy across written, audio, video, and social content. You'll play a key role in ensuring the credibility of daily coverage through fact-checking, research, and collaboration with writers and editors. The position is fully remote but requires working PST hours (1PM–10PM PST, flexible within those).

There is no application deadline for this role.

Part-Time Editor Responsibilities :

Fact-check daily written content, including statistics, dates, names, dollar amounts, and quotes.

Research descriptions of events and deeper assertions of fact using trusted resources.

Review and ensure the accuracy of sports, pop culture, and current events coverage.

Use a proprietary CMS to produce blog posts, features, and other pages for the digital property.

Communicate directly and tactfully with editors, writers, and producers to resolve edits.

Provide general administrative support to the editorial department as needed.

Part-Time Editor Qualifications :

Minimum 1 year of experience fact-checking for a website, magazine, newspaper, or other publication.

Previous journalism experience as a staff writer for a printed or online publication (required).

Strong familiarity with journalism best practices and content management systems.

Solid knowledge of sports, sports statistics, pop culture, and current events.

Skilled in online research beyond basic Google searches.

Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.

Excellent communication, writing, and critical reading skills.

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends depending on major events.
