Clinical Nurse Manager - Labor & Delivery Unit

Position Overview

As the L&D Nurse Manager, you will oversee daily operations, ensure clinical excellence, and foster a culture of patient-centered care. This leadership role combines clinical expertise with operational management to deliver superior maternal and infant care outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of L&D nurses while ensuring optimal staffing levels and clinical competencies
  • Drive quality improvements through evidence-based practices and performance metrics
  • Oversee patient safety initiatives and regulatory compliance
  • Manage unit operations, including budget, resources, and equipment maintenance
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary care teams to ensure seamless patient care delivery
  • Implement strategies to enhance patient experience and satisfaction scores
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures aligned with current healthcare standards
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators for maternal-child health outcomes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's (MSN) preferred
  • Current RN license in state of practice or active compact license
  • 3-5 years of progressive clinical experience in Labor & Delivery
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in L&D setting
  • Specialty certification (e.g., RNC-OB, C-EFM) required within 6 months of hire
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience with quality improvement initiatives
