Clinical Nurse Manager - Labor & Delivery Unit

Position Overview

As the L&D Nurse Manager, you will oversee daily operations, ensure clinical excellence, and foster a culture of patient-centered care. This leadership role combines clinical expertise with operational management to deliver superior maternal and infant care outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of L&D nurses while ensuring optimal staffing levels and clinical competencies
Drive quality improvements through evidence-based practices and performance metrics
Oversee patient safety initiatives and regulatory compliance
Manage unit operations, including budget, resources, and equipment maintenance
Coordinate interdisciplinary care teams to ensure seamless patient care delivery
Implement strategies to enhance patient experience and satisfaction scores
Develop and maintain policies and procedures aligned with current healthcare standards
Monitor and improve key performance indicators for maternal-child health outcomes

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's (MSN) preferred

Current RN license in state of practice or active compact license

3-5 years of progressive clinical experience in Labor & Delivery

Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in L&D setting

Specialty certification (e.g., RNC-OB, C-EFM) required within 6 months of hire

Strong leadership and communication skills

Experience with quality improvement initiatives
