Job Summary : This position is responsible for performing high-quality troubleshooting, analysis, and repair work on CAT heavy equipment in order to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring, and timely manner and to ensure maximum value for work performed. In addition, this position requires a detail-minded individual with thorough construction equipment knowledge. Five years of Caterpillar Construction Machine troubleshooting / diagnosing experience required. #CAT #Caterpillar

Essential Functions :
Performs advanced troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failuresAdvises customer of problem areas, recommends repair solutions, acquires customer approval, and orders appropriate parts in order to repair equipment in a timely mannerRemoves and replaces machine components utilizing required technical data and procedures in order to repair equipment to dealership and CAT standardsMaintain technical proficiency through self-study and / or successful completion of required training courses in order to increase job-related competenciesPerforms product improvement updates as neededCompletes all documents associated with repairs in a timely mannerMaintains all equipment and work areas – keeps in good, clean, and orderly conditionWorks safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standardsWorks overtime as required by workload and customers’ needsUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; e.g., Technical Service Department Training PathsPerforms other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Advance knowledge of hydraulics, electronic controls, electrical systems / components, and core machine modelsThorough knowledge of CAT equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceDemonstrates proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and electronic machine systemsOperation and control skills - Controlling operations of equipment or systemsEquipment selection skills - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a jobAbility to assess the condition of used equipment and basic knowledge of used equipment valuesAbility to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repairThe ability to quickly and repeatedly operate the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positionsThe ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objectsAbility to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timelinessExceptional organizational, self-management, time management, and multi-tasking skillsThe ability to read, write, and understand informationThe ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentencesAdditional Requirements :
Must have / acquire mechanic hand and pneumatic tools (metric / standard)Education and Experience :
Five years of work-related skill, knowledge, and experience with construction equipment is requiredHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredValid Driver’s license required, CDL preferredSupervisory Responsibilities :
