Reports To : Chief Operating Officer
Travel Requirement : Up to 60%
Position Summary
The Director of Business Development is a strategic sales leader responsible for driving growth through consultative partnerships with organizations seeking to transform their hospitality and dining operations—without outsourcing. Focused on the senior living and healthcare sectors, this role leads the full sales lifecycle, from outbound prospecting and executive engagement to proposal development, pricing strategy, and successful close.
With a deep understanding of self-operated food service models and the operational and cultural challenges facing providers, the Director serves as a trusted advisor to executive teams—positioning our advisory and program management services (IHS), quality assurance platform (CrossCheck), and culinary transformation support (QCS) as high-impact solutions to improve resident satisfaction, workforce engagement, operational performance, and financial outcomes. ~ ~ The ideal candidate blends executive presence with a roll-up-your-sleeves mindset, capable of navigating long sales cycles, building relationships across decision-making levels, and translating complex needs into tailored solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & ExecutionDevelop and execute a go-to-market plan to grow market share in the senior living, healthcare, and corporate hospitality sectors through consultative, non-outsourced partnerships.Pipeline Development & OutreachIdentify and engage prospective clients through targeted outreach, networking, referrals, and national / regional conferences. Use data-informed prospecting strategies to expand the top of funnel.Executive EngagementLead high-level discovery conversations with CEOs, CFOs, and executive directors to uncover operational, culinary, and cultural challenges that align with our service offerings.Solution Development & ProposalsCollaborate with operations, culinary, and quality teams to create tailored solution frameworks, pricing strategies, and compelling proposals that reflect each client's goals.Contract Negotiation & CloseOwn the end-to-end sales process through to contract execution—ensuring value alignment, clear scope, and successful handoff to implementation teams.Market & Competitive IntelligenceStay abreast of trends in hospitality, regulatory shifts, staffing, resident expectations, and competitor activity. Share insights to inform marketing strategy and service innovation.Cross-Brand CollaborationPartner with the IHS, CrossCheck, and QCS leadership teams to align messaging and support integrated sales opportunities across the Phoenix3 Collective ecosystem.CRM & ReportingMaintain accurate records of all sales activity, forecasts, contacts, and deal progression in HubSpot or relevant CRM platforms.Preferred Experience & Qualifications
7+ years of B2B sales or advisory experience in hospitality, contract dining, healthcare, or senior livingProven track record of consultative selling and closing deals ranging from $50K to $500K+Deep understanding of self-operated dining models, contract transitions, and hospitality-forward service designExperience engaging executive stakeholders and navigating multi-tiered decision-making environmentsStrong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to distill complexity into clarityFamiliarity with CRM platforms (HubSpot preferred) and sales performance trackingAbility to travel up to 60% to client sites and industry events nationwideBachelor's degree required; advanced degree or certifications in healthcare, hospitality, or business preferredJ-18808-Ljbffr
