PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

CHIP's Resident Services Program offers health, education, recreation, and technology activities along with civic and community engagement and leadership opportunities for the residents of our rental properties. The purpose of our Resident Services Program is to support our residents to maintain stable tenancy, pursue long-term goals, enhance their quality of life, and build community. Programming is offered by CHIP staff and in partnership with local agencies and volunteers. Resident Services is critical in fulfilling CHIP's mission to create affordable homeownership and quality rental housing in Northern California. CHIP does this by building and maintaining permanent housing that promotes stability, cultivates economic benefits, nurtures community, and empowers residents. CHIP envisions a North Valley region where everyone has a home and opportunity to thrive in healthy and inclusive communities. The Resident Services program works closely with CHIP's Property Management, Asset Management, and Rental Housing Development programs.

JOB SUMMARY

Coordinates and implements program activities for residents, assesses the needs of residents, collaborates with them in the design and implementation of a well-rounded activities program, and establishes linkages with community providers to utilize available resources. Recruits and supports program volunteers. Supports 10 rental properties in Chico, Gridley, Live Oak, and Marysville. The position may also be responsible for serving other properties within CHIP’s 7-county service area (Butte, Glenn, Shasta, Tehama, Colusa, Sutter, and Yuba counties). Travel to CHIP’s main office in Chico and various rental properties is mandatory. Be prepared to commute. Mileage reimbursement per CHIP travel policy. Flexible schedule available. Some evenings and weekends are required. This position is not eligible for a remote or hybrid work schedule. This position is immediately needed.

A Qualified Candidate will be able to

  • Analyze problems and create solutions within existing frameworks.
  • Fluently speak and write in Spanish.
  • Travel throughout CHIP's service area.
  • Qualifications and Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • College-level work in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Lived experience is a bonus
  • Must have a reliable vehicle, a current valid California Driver's license, and be insurable under the criteria established by CHIP’s general liability carrier. Must provide current proof of insurance at the levels specified by the CHIP travel policy.
