About the Role
Our client—a private equity-backed company —is searching for a Corporate Controller who thrives in leadership and loves building structure. This role is more than financial oversight; it’s an opportunity to develop people, improve processes, and drive performance .

What You’ll Do
Lead the Team : Provide day-to-day leadership to the accounting staff across all levels. Mentor, coach, and develop talent to build a confident, capable team.
Own the Close : Manage all accounting operations—GL, AP / AR, payroll, fixed assets—and ensure accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes.
Financial Reporting : Prepare and review financials in accordance with GAAP; ensure clarity, accuracy, and executive-ready presentation.
Process & Procedure : Evaluate, create, and implement financial processes and internal controls to make the finance function run like a well-oiled machine .
Strategic Partnering : Work closely with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
Audit & Tax : Lead external audits and ensure timely tax filings in coordination with external advisors.
Systems Oversight : Manage and enhance QuickBooks and supporting tools to meet the organization’s financial reporting needs.
Data & Tools : Leverage strong Excel skills to analyze, model, and deliver insights that drive better decision-making.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or MBA a plus)
CPA preferred
7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, including leadership in a corporate or public accounting setting
Strong working knowledge of GAAP , internal controls, and financial reporting
Demonstrated ability to build and scale teams, systems, and processes
Strong leadership and mentoring skills —you enjoy growing people as much as improving numbers
Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth environments is a plus
Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling, analysis, and reporting
Experience with QuickBooks and comfort optimizing it for reporting and operational needs
