Network Administrator

Kelloggsville Public Schools

Full-Time Position 260 Days

Summary :

To manage troubleshoot and problem solve issues related to district networks and technology systems to achieve the missions goals and outcome of Kelloggsville Public Schools. Works under the direction of the Technology / Media Director.

Preferred Qualifications :

Bachelors degree with preference given to college or technical training in Computer Science Information Technology Network Administration or related field.

Training / Experience / Responsibilities :

  • Proven experience administering and supporting networks;

Proficiency with system operations : MacOS Windows ChromeOS Linux;

Familiarity with multifunction copiers and managed print services;

Experience with IP telephony clock and paging systems;

Knowledge of access control (electronic door locks) video surveiliance systems and related security technologies;

Understanding of audio-visual systems including video projection and sound systems;

Experience supporting educational technologies such as document cameras scanners printers and cameras;

Familiarity with the following software is a plus : SynergySIS MealMagic SchoolFinance Microsoft Office Suite VNC Clever etc.;

Experience with SSL Certificates and their implementation;

Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities;

Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware software and network issues;

Proactive maintenance of technology assets and networks;

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical users;

    • Assist with planning and implementing new and emerging technologies;

    Provide Level II technical support for hardware software and network issues;

    Oversee the distribution installation and upgrading of hardware and software in collaboration with district technicians;

    Maintain and administer core network services including DHCP DNS file services Internet access and Wi-Fi;

    Maintain core network infrastructure (switches routers firewalls print services web servers);

    Support and maintain AV systems across classrooms and large event spaces;

  • Collaborate with the Director of Technology to develop and implement a preventative maintenance plan for hardware;
  • Organizational skills and ability to transfer knowledge to the staff regarding software hardware and networks;

    • Ability to multitask problem solve and troubleshoot computer and network malfunctions.

  • Proactive in the maintenance and overall care of technology hardware software and networks;
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with parents staff students and the public in a multicultural and multiracial community;
  • Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others;
