Join the WBRC News Team as Digital Content Producer! Are you a fast, accurate writer with a passion for digital storytelling? If you're digitally savvy, thrive under deadline pressure, and love both writing and reporting, this is your chance to shine in a fast-paced, forward-thinking newsroom.
In this role, you'll be at the forefront of breaking news—creating and distributing content quickly and accurately across all digital platforms. You will also get the opportunity to report on camera for our growing connected TV audience, delivering impactful digital-first stories that resonate beyond the traditional newscast.
Duties / Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) :
- Work quickly and accurately to send out breaking news, weather, and traffic alerts via push notifications, social media updates, and web stories that are updated as news develops.
- Demonstrate excellent writing, copy-editing, and storytelling skills.
- Coordinate livestreams across multiple platforms.
- Monitor news sources and conduct research to develop digital and social media content.
- Collaborate and communicate with reporters, other digital team members, producers, anchors, and managers to gather content for online and on-air.
- Write engaging digital headlines and compelling captions for social media.
- Explore ways to increase visual content on all digital and social media platforms.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- The position may require evening and weekend work.
Qualifications / Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related fieldOn-camera experience in a broadcast or livestream news setting, with the ability to ad-lib and confidently engage a digital audienceStrong news judgment and the ability to gather information and conduct interviews as neededResourceful with online research and fact-checkingExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with solid knowledge of AP StyleAble to work well under pressure, meet daily deadlines, and handle limited supervisionHighly self-motivated with a proactive mindset and strong sense of initiativeWorking knowledge of content management systems (CMS)Familiarity with Canva, basic video editing tools, social media scheduling platforms, and ENPSA sharp eye for detail and a willingness to learn new and evolving technologiesComfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of a teamIf you feel you’re qualified and want to work with a great group of people, go to , you may type in the job title, station call letters, or click on "apply now" , upload your resume, cover letter, and references
