Description
Position Summary
Responsible for maintaining and setting up food production and quality control of all food items prepared.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Produce consistent food projects while following recipes with reduced supervision and direction from the Culinary Manager, while maintaining quality presentation standards
- Exhibits an advanced knowledge, understanding and application of knife skills and cooking techniques
- Identify and safely use all kitchen equipment
- Properly label, date and rotate all products to ensure safe keeping and sanitation
- Maintain an organized, clean and sanitary work area in accordance with Health Department / ServSafe standards
- Assist, train and guide prep cooks and other culinary staff members in daily tasks
- Basic understanding and knowledge of inventory control, requisitions and par levels
- Refer to menu for the following days prep and specific diet needs of customer(s)
- Record food temperatures three (3) times daily, according to temp. log
- Complete daily cleaning list

Work Environment
This job operates in a post-acute setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the facility. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. Team member is expected to adhere to facility's no-smoking policy.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. The employee must frequently lift and / or move items over 60 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a position in a post-acute setting that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Weekend and holiday shifts will be required
