Position Overview
The Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing safety protocols and procedures within the manufacturing environment to ensure a safe workplace for all employees. This role involves conducting safety audits, training employees on safety practices, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.
This position requires someone who is bilngual in English and Spanish.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training and resources to employees on safety practices, including First Aid and emergency response protocols.
- Investigate safety incidents and accidents to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with HR and Operations to ensure safety protocols are integrated into daily operations and employee onboarding.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, audits, and training sessions, preparing reports for management as needed.
- Lead safety meetings and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
- Manage the proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Stay updated on industry safety standards and best practices, making recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience in a safety management role within a manufacturing environment.Bilingual in English and Spanish is requiredActive OSHA 30 CertificationAbility to travel between locations 25-30% of the timeStrong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or ASP (Associate Safety Professional) are a plus.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis for reporting and compliance purposes.Experience with safety programs, training, and incident investigations.Strong experience with risk assessment, root cause analysi,s and other related tasksKnowledge of construction safety practices and protocols is an advantage.Benefits
