Audubon is currently seeking a Control Systems Engineering Supervisor to join our team in our Houston, TX Office. The Control Systems Engineering Supervisor ensures successful completion of both company and client objectives at the project level. The main focus of the Control Systems Engineering Supervisor is to lead engineers and specialists on projects to assure profitability, quality of design, development, installation and fulfillment of processes and systems utilized for project execution. The Control Systems Engineering Supervisor will frequently collaborate with other management and personnel across all business units.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Key Areas of Responsibility will include :

  • Manage a team of up to 10 engineers and specialists
  • Account Management
  • Collaborates with management and estimation personnel to assure timely proposals and project assessments
  • Collaborates with management to allocate resources at the project level. Responsible for procurement / vendor process (reviewing purchase orders, pricing and delivery schedules; approving vendor invoices)
  • Responsible for project change management related to project scope, schedule and budget, including the negotiation of change orders with clients
  • Responsible for employee time & expense approval
  • Facilitates internal and customer meetings to review and update project / account status
  • Assurance for project close-out and audits (Updated and accurate project documentation in both electronic and hard copy format)
  • Maintains awareness of future opportunities at customer facilities and informs management
  • Leads Automation Teams on assigned projects
  • Mentors and trains Automation Engineers on project execution methodologies.
  • Understanding of where the Automation & Controls industry is headed and how to get there
  • Knowledge with integration of a smaller system into a large-scale plant ( communication between skids / handshaking)
  • Must have a proven track record of leading automation projects (from conceptual through commissioning) within the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Excellent team player, people and mentor skills, with the ability to nurture / manage a relationship with the customer.
  • Direct experience and fluent with configuration of various automation systems (process control systems, safety instrumented systems, fire and gas systems, and / or advanced process control) including development code, ability to specify hardware / software and develop / modify graphics.
  • Other responsibilities include : developing standards, procedures, training manuals, and other documentation for projects or internal use. Opportunity to lead a team and interface directly with customer.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS :

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required for the position :

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of Automation or Controls related experience (Electrical, Computer, Chemical, or other Engineering / Technical degree)
  • Experience includes at least 5 years of project and / or resource management, budget planning, and accountability responsibilities
  • Prior experience programming of PLC, HMI, and DCS components, Testing, Verification, and Validation of systems, as well as all related documentation requirements
  • Understanding of multiple automation system platforms, such as DCS, PLC, HMI, SCADA and other applicable systems
  • Broad understanding of all components involved in automation systems from end device to control room to enterprise level
  • Knowledge of multiple industry standards (ISA, NFPA, NEC)
  • Proficient at reading and interpreting technical documentation (P&IDs, schematics, loop sheets, manuals, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Reliable personal transportation.
  • Fluent in verbal and written English.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, walk and push, pull and lift 25+lbs for an extended period.
  • Available for after-hours, weekend and holidays if required by project scope.
  • Proficiency with computer based work, and ability to learn and work in office productivity software such as Microsoft Office 365.
