Revenue Accountant

Job Summary
This role is part of the accounting department based in Austin, Texas. The Revenue Accountant will be responsible for maintaining revenue recognition practices and ensuring accounting treatment aligns with customer contracts and applicable standards. Key duties include reviewing contracts, maintaining accurate revenue and gas volume schedules, and supporting financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in GAAP, particularly ASC 606, and experience working cross-functionally.
Qualifications
3–5 years of relevant work experience
Background in public accounting or industry experience in energy / midstream
Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to meet deadlines
Hands-on experience with revenue accounting and ASC 606 application
Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Quorum and / or NetSuite
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
Apply ASC 606 to customer contracts
Implement and maintain contract summaries
Prepare and manage annual maintenance and reimbursable invoices
Lead and review monthly revenue accruals across projects
Conduct price-volume fluctuation analysis by asset
Maintain deferred revenue schedules
Perform and review timely accounting reconciliations
Manage monthly and annual close processes for income statement and balance sheet
Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger entries
Assist with technical accounting memorandums
Support internal and external audits with documentation and explanations
Contribute to special projects as assigned
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
CPA or CPA eligibility preferred

Pay Details : $100,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year
