We are a sports bar for cricket fans. Though some Indian restaurants are known to show cricket games as far as we can find we are the only sports bar for cricket fans in the United States. We have wings, draft beers, darts, and other components of what you can expect from a sports bar, but with a primary focus on the sport of cricket and a secondary focus on other international sports like soccer, rugby, and Aussie rules football, as well as women's sports in a variety of competitions. We also show a decent amount of American teams to meet the needs of our neighborhood.
Our only rule that is not subject to change is that cricket be on one tv at all times, even if it's only highlights. In addition to standard bar food, we have some more robust dishes of British influence like bangers & mash and shepherd's pie. Though we don't do enough to truly be an English Pub, we consider ourselves British-ish.
We are looking to hire a bartender / cook. An active alcohol servers permit and food handler card are required. Special preference will be given to :
Those with experience BOTH bartending and cooking. Though we mostly operate with both a cook and a bartender, your ability to do both will put us in a position to have coverage for other staff's illness and vacations, as well as allowing us to experiment with new hours using only one employee for the shift.
Those willing to work alone and in the mornings. We're hoping to start opening at 8am on the weekends to establish ourselves as a place to reliably watch international games live, but until we gain a reputation for that, it is not worth staffing two employees for those shifts.
Sports fans, especially international sports, and cricket in particular. Roughly 95% of visits currently are from Americans with little understanding of cricket, and it would be good to have someone who can answer their questions about the game when they express curiosity. For those customers that come in specifically for cricket, it would be nice to have more people there who can talk about the game.
Those comfortable interacting with customers. Even if you work a cooking shift with a bartender also there, you will be expected to run the food you cook to the tables.
