Position Summary : Deliver weekly art classes to groups of children in an after-school setting at different schools.

Compensation : $40.00 per class hour.

KE Art for Kids has been creating meaningful art experiences for children since 2017. Founded by Karen Esther, a Montessori educator and art teacher, KE Art provides after-school art classes at different locations throughout Miami.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :

  • Deliver weekly art classes to groups of children after school on site.
  • Ensure the safety of all students in your care.
  • Provide instruction and modeling on the proper use of various art mediums.
  • Prepare all art materials in an organized and timely manner.
  • Responsible for classroom set-up and clean-up.
  • Keep an enthusiastic and upbeat pace for the hour of class instruction, guiding students into a creative state.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings.
  • Manage communication and interactions with all clients, parents, and students in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of (2) years of experience teaching children in a group setting.
  • Basic drawing and adaptive artistic teaching ability.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Reliable mode of transportation.
  • Available during after-school hours.
  • Independently motivated (i.e., self-starter) and accountable for classes from start to finish.
  • Creative and patient problem-solver with a can-do, positive attitude.
  • A team-player who acts with integrity by honoring all time commitments, company guidelines, and procedures.
  • Above-all, someone who embodies the KE Art values and culture.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Engagement or involvement in art.
  • Such as your own work, art education / knowledge, teaching or volunteer work.
