Description : Overview

The Inventory Control Coordinator position will coordinate the daily shipping activities, as well as performing a variety of warehouse tasks including cycle counts, physical inventory counts, maintaining inventory software program and inventory software training for Tarrant Area Food Bank.

Essential Responsibilities

Agency Orders and Pick-up Support

  • Provide customer service and assistance to agencies with ordering and invoicing of orders
  • Review, Accept and Schedule orders from agencies in the inventory system
  • Generate inventory picks in inventory system for order pullers
  • Complete timely and accurate invoicing of orders; transmit copy to agencies
  • Maintain ordering calendar in Agency Express

Inventory Support

  • Participate in accurate inventory control measures including periodic physical inventory and cycle counts, and the investigation of discrepancies
  • Additional Duties

  • Attend staff meetings and participate in team planning sessions
  • Demonstrates a pleasant, professional and helpful attitude at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Job Qualifications

    Education and Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent and one-year related experience and / or training preferred.
  • Knowledge of inventory control practices, procedures, and recordkeeping methods.
  • Technical Proficiencies

  • Proficient knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications – PowerPoint, Word, Excel,
  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience
  • Communication Skills

  • Strong communication skills including excellence in speaking, writing, and presenting information
  • Other Competencies

  • Excellent customer service and time management skills; ability to engage a diverse audience; flexible and able to take initiative and work independently; conflict resolution and negotiation tactics; compassion for our mission
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills -strong attention to detail.

  • Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Work in an office and warehouse environment
  • This position requires frequent walking, standing, sitting and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds
  • May encounter occasional exposure to fumes and / or airborne particles, and hear moderate noise from office and warehouse equipment
