The Leadership Risk Advisor - Project Delivery and Contracts partners with senior leaders to strengthen the firm's ability to anticipate, assess, and respond to project- and enterprise-level risks. This role provides specialized guidance on risk-informed leadership, focusing on high-impact areas such as contracts, project insurance, negotiations, and compliance. Acting as a trusted advisor, the position helps align decision-making practices with the firm's strategic vision and risk tolerance, fostering a culture of proactive, informed leadership across the organization.

Responsibilities

Risk-Centered Leadership Advisory

Provides targeted counsel to senior and emerging leaders on managing contractual risk, project insurance strategy, and negotiation practices

  • Advises on leadership decisions involving project complexity, regulatory exposure, or legal considerations
  • Serves as a strategic partner to firm leadership in navigating risk-related challenges tied to project delivery, client agreements, and professional liability

Risk Strategy Integration

  • Collaborates with executives to embed risk-awareness into planning, contracts, and operational decisions
  • Supports the evaluation of potential exposures across projects and service lines, helping leaders weigh opportunities against associated risks
  • Partners with legal, finance, and project delivery teams to ensure alignment between leadership practices and the firm's risk management protocols
  • Training and Development

  • Facilitates practical training for leaders on risk management in areas such as contract terms, liability mitigation, negotiation strategy, and insurance requirements
  • Contributes to the development of leadership resources that promote a consistent, risk-aware decision-making culture across the firm
  • Works with Learning & Development to integrate risk leadership content into broader training initiatives
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field
  • At least 10 years of experience advising senior leadership or managing risk within the architecture, engineering, or construction industries
  • Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline, preferred
  • Deep understanding of contract strategy, project insurance, negotiation frameworks, and enterprise risk principles
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and strategic advisory skills
  • Proven ability to influence decision-making at the executive level
