Job Title : CNC Service Engineer

Location : Oregon (based in Technical Center when not traveling)

Schedule : Full Time, Core Business Hours

Classification : Non-Exempt

Travel : 50% or more

Salary Range : $85,000 - 115,000

Position Overview

We are seeking a Service Engineer to provide installation, maintenance, and repair support for CNC machine tools at customer sites and by remote assistance. This role is highly customer-facing, requiring both strong technical troubleshooting skills and excellent communication abilities. The position offers significant travel across a multi-state region.

Key Responsibilities

Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of CNC machine tools.

Troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective solutions onsite or via phone support.

Document technical information and update service records.

Generate and analyze service-related reports.

Train and assist customer service engineers with newer product lines and technical processes.

Foster strong customer relationships by providing exceptional service and communication.

Manage challenging situations positively while addressing customer needs promptly.

Support service team collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Perform additional service-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (preferred).

3–5 years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining CNC machine tools.

Hands-on experience with Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens, or Mori Seiki equipment (preferred).

Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC ladder diagrams.

Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Highly adaptable with the ability to manage multiple projects and frequent changes.

Willingness and ability to travel 50%+ (multi-state region; driving or flying depending on distance).

Work Environment & Expectations

Travel regularly to customer sites for field service.

Work at the Technical Center when not assigned to customer projects.

Maintain a professional, customer-focused demeanor in all interactions.
