Job Title :   Product Manager (Capital Equipment)

Location : Elgin, IL

Hire Type : Direct-Hire

Target Base Salary :  $110,000 / year

Job Summary :

Seeking an experienced Product Manager to oversee the direction, development, and market success of our pharmaceutical capital equipment portfolio. This role will guide the product from concept to commercialization and beyond, ensuring alignment with market demand, customer needs, and business objectives. You will work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and other internal stakeholders to bring innovative equipment solutions to market and maintain their competitive edge.

Job Duties :

Strategic Planning – Develop and refine a long-term product roadmap informed by customer insights, market intelligence, and business goals. Ensure all functions are aligned toward shared objectives.

Team Collaboration – Act as the bridge between technical, commercial, and operational teams to guarantee accurate understanding of requirements and consistent execution.

Launch & Promotion – Partner with marketing to shape campaigns, sales tools, and trade show strategies that effectively position the equipment and drive awareness.

Market Insight – Continuously assess industry developments and competitive activity, translating findings into actionable strategies for product improvement and differentiation.

Documentation & Tools – Maintain current product specifications and ensure that pricing and configuration tools reflect the latest offerings.

Sales Enablement – Provide technical and commercial support to the sales organization, assisting with customer proposals and tailored equipment solutions.

Customer Relationships – Strengthen partnerships with existing clients and cultivate new opportunities to expand market share.

Demonstrations & Testing – Coordinate lab operations and customer trials to showcase equipment performance and value.

Other Duties – Support additional projects and initiatives as needed to advance departmental and organizational goals.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)

6+ years in product management, technical sales, or engineering within pharmaceutical or life sciences manufacturing

Strong knowledge of production processes and regulatory environments (GMP, FDA, EMA)

Proven experience with capital equipment and related process technologies

Excellent communication, project leadership, and cross-functional coordination skills

Proficiency in CRM and sales platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot) and strong general computer skills

Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Bilingual English / Spanish skills a plus for international business engagement

Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of driving innovation and continuous improvement

Willingness to travel 25-50% as required; valid driver’s license needed.
