Job Title : CNC Machinist, Shift : 2nd Shift

Job Summary

This opportunity is with a well-established precision manufacturing facility located in Toano, VA, known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and long-term employee development. The CNC Machinist will join a skilled team on 2nd shift, operating both CNC and manual machining equipment to produce high-quality components used across various industries. The role involves setting up, programming, and running Haas CNC mills and manual lathes, with a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement. This position is open due to increased production demand and anticipated growth, with potential for additional hires in the near future.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, program, and operate Haas CNC Milling machines, manual lathes, and mills
Monitor machine operations to detect defects and ensure quality standards
Measure workpiece dimensions to verify accuracy and quality
Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and documentation
Maintain and clean machinery and equipment
Organize work area and report equipment / process issues

Required Qualifications

3–5 years of experience with CNC machining

Experience with HAAS machines preferred

Proficiency in manual and CNC machining equipment

Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation

Measurement tools : calipers or micrometers

Basic computer skills (e.g., sending emails, Microsoft Word and Excel)

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Ability to follow instructions, accept feedback, and work collaboratively

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (typical lifting is around 25 lbs)

Drug screening required

Nice to Have

Fast-track CNC course or technical school background

Military background

Experience in a job shop or manufacturing warehouse environment

Familiarity with steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and plastics
