PRIMARY PURPOSE : Follow routine cleaning procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of assigned facilities and the surrounding grounds. Duties vary frequently and are appointed by the Custodial Foreman. The Custodial Foreman assigns all cleaning tasks, scheduling, direction, supervision, inspections, and performance evaluations of the head, assistant, and custodial staff.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in custodial services preferred
- Basic understanding and verbalization of the English language
MAJOR RESPONSBILITIES AND DUTIES :
Follow established AISD safety proceduresAbide by all AISD Board policies as well as procedures outlined in the Auxiliary Employee HandbookAssume responsibility for daily directives as given by the Custodial Foreman, Operations Supervisor, or Director of OperationsServe as custodial team lead in assigned facility as designated by the Custodial ForemanRead and understand instructions for cleaning and safety proceduresFollow established procedures for cleaning buildings, floors, chalk / marker boards, waste baskets, windows, furniture, equipment and restroomsKeep all district facilities and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and playground areas, neat and cleanKeep custodial closet neat, clean, safe, and organizedEnsure that equipment and supplies are used and maintained properlyAccept instructions on the proper use of equipment and cleaning materialsOperate cleaning equipment and lift heavy items and / or equipmentAssist with lunchroom set up, including tables and chairs, as well as setting up and breaking down facilities for special eventsWork cooperatively with all District personnel to ensure a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operationsMaintain effective communication and rapport within assigned department and with all other areas of contactAssist with opening and closing facility each dayThe position may require overtime, as necessary, to maintain the function of District facilitiesThe position will respond to service calls in a timely manner while serving on-call duty, as necessary to maintain the function of District facilitiesAny other duties as may be directed by your immediate supervisor and / or any other supervisor within your line of authorityJOB DUTIES :
