Our client, a respected distributor and manufacturer , is seeking an Account Manager / Project Manager to bridge the gap between project execution and customer relationship management. This newly created position evolved from a sales-focused role into a more strategic, operationally driven function. The ideal candidate will combine strong project management expertise with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships. This role offers a clear growth path, with the opportunity to eventually lead an account management team while working closely with established customers who have partnered with the company for over 35 years.
You will manage high-impact projects from concept to completion-overseeing new product sourcing, coordinating custom orders, and ensuring seamless communication between customers, vendors, and internal teams. While this is not a day-to-day order entry position, your work will directly influence customer satisfaction, operational success, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute key customer projects from initial concept through delivery
- Serve as the primary contact for major accounts, ensuring clear and proactive communication
- Coordinate special / custom product requests, including branding, packaging, and artwork updates
- Evaluate internal vs. external vendor capabilities for project fulfillment
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with customers and vendors
- Travel within West Michigan to visit long-standing clients (no extensive travel)
- Anticipate risks, remove roadblocks, and maintain project timelines
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align customer needs with operational and business objectives
