Position Responsibilities :

  • Provides analytical data support to physicians, senior management, general accounting, business office, and physician practice teams.
  • Generates and distributes daily, weekly and monthly profit and loss statements, financial reports, and performance summary reports to management as required. Analyzes the summary data to identify variances and trends, highlighting problem areas requiring management attention.
  • Analyzes physician contracts to ensure physicians are being reimbursed appropriately, appropriate stipends are given, and bonus / deficit clauses are enforced.
  • Interacts with departmental managers and staff within the business office, financial planning, physician practices, and outside vendors in order to provide feedback on problem areas to the director, management team and administration with recommendations.
  • Researches issues thoroughly and recommends actions using information identified through data analysis, observations and discussions in order to assist management with the preparation of the budget, and the monitoring of expenses / variances accordingly.
  • Coordinates with general accounting, financial planning, physician practices, business office, outside vendors, and Information systems to insure data integrity and consistent accurate departmental reporting.
  • Assists in the creation, implementation, and education of new processes and workflows using hospital applications for all finance areas.
  • Present and communicate information such as financial data and analysis clearly and effectively to Administration, Management, and Physicians.
  • Informs director and / or management of any unusual events or decisions likely to impact physicians and hospital financial positions.
  • Exhibits initiative in finding alternatives to manual data collection and analysis.
  • Provides system support and assist the general accounting department with their monthly, quarterly, and year end processes and reporting.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, IT, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Healthcare Finance experience preferred.
