Disney Entertainment’s eight-owned ABC stations are multiplatform leaders in local news and information. ABC7 / WLS-TV Chicago is the No. 1 local news source and most-watched television station in Chicago. With top-rated daily newscasts spanning decades and the largest social media presence in the market with more than 2.6 million Facebook followers, ABC7 Eyewitness News provides breaking news, investigative reporting, weather, politics, traffic and sports in the multiplatform space to Chicago, the suburbs and northwest Indiana. ABC 7 Chicago’s #1 news is seeking an experienced newsroom leader to produce its top-rated 6 : 00pm newscast and its 6 : 30pm streaming newscast.

Responsibilities :

• In addition to crafting a fast paced, visually compelling show, the producer is responsible communicating with reporters about the focus and format of their stories.
• The producer will report directly to the Executive Producer and will also be responsible for creating graphics and editing video at their desktop.
• The producer will be responsible for creating some graphics and editing video at their desktop.

The hiring range for this position in Chicago, IL is $113,800 to $152,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and / or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
