Digital Content Creator

LOCATION : Concord, North Carolina

Halfway between the state’s stunning Blue Ridge Mountains and famed coastline, Cabarrus County is located in south-central North Carolina in the vibrant Piedmont region. Just 30 minutes north of Uptown Charlotte, the area encompasses five unique communities : the cities of Concord and Kannapolis, and towns of Harrisburg, Midland and Mount Pleasant.

SUMMARY :

The Cabarrus County CVB’s mission is to drive visitation to Cabarrus to generate the maximum impact through hotel stays and visitor spending. Our marketing efforts strive to inspire exploration through authentic storytelling and helpful, easy-to-access resources. The Digital Content Creator supports the Marketing team by developing compelling digital content for the CCCVB’s owned media channels, with a focus on social media.

Known as a hub of engaging experiences, Cabarrus is home to premier motorsports entertainment, shopping, family-friendly attractions, outdoor adventures, historic sites, charming downtowns and more. As the destination’s storyteller, the Digital Content Creator serves as an inside tour guide and showcases the destination by connecting with our area’s hospitality partners, experiencing their offerings firsthand, and sharing their stories with our online community.

RESPONSIBILITIES : Social Media

Capture, edit and publish content that aligns with the Explore Cabarrus brand including photos, video, audio, and copy
Organize, execute social media content shoots
Monitor and engage with social media posts
Support paid media campaigns
Collaborate with the Marketing team / agencies on content creator partnerships

Manage the Events Calendar on ExploreCabarrus.com

Collaborate with the Marketing team / agencies on creation of editorial calendars

Assist with maintenance of content sitewide

Partnership

Foster relationships with hospitality partners to uncover content ideas and increase awareness of / engagement with the CCCVB.

Attend special events and visit hospitality partner locations to develop timely content.

Communicate opportunities to participate in / engage with the CCCVB’s digital content.

Additional Duties

Assist with photo / video production, copywriting, and graphic design.

Remain updated on tourism industry and state-level destination marketing efforts.

Report monthly digital analytics.

Execute other duties as assigned by the Director of Communications.

REQUIREMENTS :

Ability to work in-office cooperatively in a team setting (this is a non-hybrid position).

1-2 years of related experience in social media, digital marketing / storytelling.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Canva. Experience with WordPress preferred.

Self-motivated with proven organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize responsibilities.

Excellent verbal, written, improvisational, and interviewingskills.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with internal and external partners at all levels within the organization.

Customer service focused.

Flexibility to work necessary hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Must possess valid driver’s license and be insurable to drive company vehicles.
