Description

The practice of speech-language pathology shall include assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, communication, and demonstration of techniques addressing speech-language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders to meet the needs of patients and their families with supervisory guidance provided as needed. Otherwise, a speech-language pathologist shall work independently without direct supervision.

Required Qualifications :

  • Master's Degree - Conferred from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
  • Coursework / Training : Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year.
  • Upon hire : Texas Speech Language Pathologist License
  • Upon hire : National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Upon hire : Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology - American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
  • 2 years of Professional experience and Certificate of Clinical Competency from American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Coursework / Training : Educated or trained in dysphagia assessment and management.
  • Neonatal Therapist (CCH acute only) : - Degree from accredited program.
  • 1 year of Acute care and / or inpatient rehabilitation experience.
