Job Summary / Basic Function
The Department of Art and Design at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position at the rank of lecturer for Art Foundations. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The start date for the appointment is as early as August 1, 2025.
The successful candidate will primarily teach perceptual, technical, and conceptual development in foundations-level drawing and two-dimensional design courses. The successful candidate is expected to be proficient in digital art and design software.
Required Education
An MFA with any studio emphasis is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants with two (2) years of full-time teaching experience in Art Foundations beyond a graduate assistantship will receive special consideration. Applicants with degrees emphasizing a studio emphasis, drawing, or painting will also receive special consideration.

The link(s) must be active and working at the time of application submission and remain so until the search is complete.
