The Contra Costa Health Department is recruiting for one (1) qualified candidate interested in the Laboratory Technician III position assigned to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) in Martinez CA. This position may require coverage of shifts at Health Centers located in the East West and Central areas of the county. It follows a rotational schedule and the incumbent will be required to work weekends.
This position is the advanced-level position in this classification series. Under supervision this position will act as the Lead Laboratory Technician; provide work direction to other technicians assist licensed and certified personnel in collection and processing specimens perform tests and analyses at the clinical laboratory within Contra Costa County and other related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications
License : Possession of a Valid California Motor Vehicle Operators License. Out of state valid Motor Vehicle Operators License will be accepted during the application process.
Certificate : Must possess and maintain a current valid Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT I) Certificate issued by the State of California Department of Public Health Laboratory Field Services Branch.
Experience : Two (2) years of full-time or its equivalent experience drawing blood.
Selection Process

2. Training and Experience Evaluation : Candidates who clearly demonstrate that they possess the minimum qualifications will have their training and experience evaluated. The responses to the supplemental questions at the time of filing will be evaluated to determine each candidates relevant education training and / or experience as presented on the application and supplemental questionnaire. (Weighted 100%)

CONVICTION HISTORY

DISASTER SERVICE WORKER
All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect.
