Purpose Statement
The job of Manager - Building is done for the purpose / s o f maintaining an attractive, sanitary and safe facility for students, staff and public; providing equipment and furniture arrangements for meeting s, classroom activities and events; minimizing property damage, loss and liability exposure; ensuring that assignments are completed in a safe, pro per and timely manner an d overseeing and supporting assigned custodians in the performance of their assignments.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
SKILLS required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include : operating equipment used in industrial cleaning / maintenance; adhering to safety practices; managing personnel; handling hazardous materials; planning and managing projects; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.
KNOWLEDGE required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes : methods of industrial cleaning; basic understanding of blueprints; and safety practices and procedures.
ABILITIES required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include : adapting to changing work priorities; communicating with diverse groups; meeting deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; working as part of a team; working with constant and sustained interruptions.
Responsibility
Responsibilities include : Performing general maintenance / building repairs , such as but not limited to plumbing (P traps, flush valves), lighting (bulb and ballast replacement), and structural (drywall, painting).Working under limited supervision following standardized practices and / or methods; leading, guiding, and / or coordinating others; and directing the use of budgeted funds within a work unit. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to impact the Organization’s services.
Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands : significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and / or pulling; frequent climbing and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and / or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 5% sitting, 70% walking, and 25% standing. This job is performed under some temperature extremes and some hazardous conditions.
Experience
Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired. Education
High School diploma or equivalent.
