Our small Architecture Firm is seeking an experienced Draftsman. The Drafter will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans using Cad software – “AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT” and the 3d Graphics software “Sketchup”. This position requires strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to interpret and create detailed noted and dimensioned floor plans and Building and Wall Sections from the Architect’s sketches and schematics.

The Drafter will be expected to work on a variety of projects including small residential remodels to +100,000 s.f. retail, commercial and industrial buildings.

Drafter Duties and Responsibilities :

• Create CAD drawings and 3d models using sketches, notes, pictures, AI generated diagrams and from verbal and written instructions and edit the information from redlined comments.
• Visit Job Sites to measure and record existing built conditions and transfer the sketches and notes into cad and 3d models.
• Consult with engineers and other technical personnel to interpret design specifications. Analyze drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to office standards and specifications.
• Create Outline Specifications from project information using a C.S.I. format and edit the information from redlined comments from the client, owner, architect and other personnel.
• Prepare and maintain technical drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
• Update and maintain a current database of drawings and documents.

Drafter Requirements and Qualifications :

This is a Contract position. Compensation will be based on experience and will be adjusted per project and level of production. An hourly wage starting at $25 per hour to $50 per hour.
