Piper Companies is seeking a Research Veterinarian for a pioneering animal health technology company located in Raleigh, North Carolina (NC) . The Research Veterinarian will lead and support cutting-edge animal health research, combining veterinary expertise with innovative technology to advance biologic delivery and livestock care. This is an on-site position out of Raleigh, NC.
Responsibilities of the Research Veterinarian :
- Co-leads the planning, execution, and analysis of field trials supporting animal health research initiatives.
- Provides veterinary services during research studies, including conducting posting sessions and in vivo experiments.
- Develops and enforces research protocols while ensuring compliance with animal welfare and USDA regulations.
- Communicates research findings to internal teams and external stakeholders, including presentations at industry conferences.
- Collaborates with engineering teams on the design and testing of novel biologic delivery devices.
- Contributes veterinary insight to product strategy, including identifying biologics suitable for proprietary delivery platforms.
Qualifications for the Research Veterinarian :
5–10 years of experience working with livestock in laboratory, field, or experimental settings.Proven leadership in scientific research projects and familiarity with USDA CVB regulatory submissions.Strong knowledge of poultry and swine diseases, including prevention and treatment strategies.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an AVMA-accredited institution; licensed to practice in the U.S.Compensation for the Research Veterinarian :
