PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Data Scientist is responsible for researching, developing, and implementing advanced machine learning and Generative AI (GenAI) solutions to support healthcare innovation. With a strong foundation in computer science, predictive modeling, and large language models (LLMs), this role focuses on building and deploying AI solutions that enhance clinical outcomes, optimize operations, and improve member / patient engagement. The scientist will work closely with engineering, clinical, and business teams to design models, validate performance, and translate technical advancements into measurable business and clinical impact.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list may not include all of the duties that may be assigned.
- Design, train, and evaluate AI models for various pediatric health use cases.
- Conduct in-depth data exploration, feature engineering, and hypothesis testing to drive outcomes and insights.
- Build ML pipelines and implement models into production environments (Azure ML, Databricks MLflow, or similar MLOps frameworks).
- Research and implement state-of-the-art techniques in deep learning, NLP, reinforcement learning, and generative AI for healthcare-specific applications.
- Work cross-functionally with clinicians, quality leaders, and engineers to identify AI opportunities and integrate solutions into workflows.
- Define metrics, validate results, and continuously monitor models to ensure accuracy, fairness, and clinical / business impact.
- Apply explainability, fairness, and bias monitoring frameworks to ensure models are ethical, transparent, and compliant with healthcare regulations.
