Summary
The Operations Manager oversees operational activities, event planning, and facilities coordination for the School of Social Work. This position manages school-wide events, coordinates facility needs, maintains operational systems, technology, and ensures fiscal accountability for operational expenses. Serves as a key liaison for facility operations and risk management. The Operations Manager provides comprehensive oversight of event planning and execution, including budget management and vendor relationships. This position is responsible for implementing operational procedures, maintaining documentation systems, and ensuring compliance with university policies and risk management protocols. Working closely with school leadership, the Operations Manager supports strategic initiatives through effective space utilization, resource allocation, and operational efficiency, while maintaining fiscal responsibility for assigned budgets and accounts. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with facility management and event planning
- Knowledge of budget management and financial processes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Required Education and / or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and (2) years of directly related experience OR
- High School Diploma and six years directly related experience Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a higher education setting, particularly in facilities or operations management
- Experience with event planning and coordination in an academic environment
- Knowledge of university systems (TAMS, Cognos, Concur, e-Procurement)
- Professional certifications related to facility management or project management
- Experience with budget management in an academic setting Compensation Information This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 25.
